jacking up the car

jacking up the car

hey guys i just bought a chack from sears and i was wondering where do i lift the car from the front and back, any info would be great.

they have lift supports on the car, put they work like crap for a jack, so i use either the lower control arms for the front or the pumpkin for the rear.

I'll use the lower control arms for the front and the pumpkin of the rearend for the rear as well. Anytime I need the front of the car raised though, I use the Rhino Ramps now.

This very topic was covered very recently,do a search and you'll find dozens of posts on where to jack your car .

thanks you guys will do. and its called a jack? i kept calling them chacks lol

Why is your thread titled "jacking up the car" if you call the tool used to jack the car a "chack?" Seems like you would have titled it "chacking up the car"

you jack the car from the two spots behind the front tires. There is a black square that you will see on each side. I put a small piece of wood on top of my floor jack and thats it. I make sure to position it away from the tab that holds on the quarter panels, because it can sometimes shift over and that will ruin the alignment of the quarter panels.
-the rear, I do after the front. And, I usually do it from a solid spot in front of the rear wheels.

those black plastic pieves ARE NOT MADE TO JACK UP THE CAR!! they say it right on them.....

Yeah, if you lift it there the front fenders bow out.
