My friend got bored one day and decided to tear out his interior and when he did, well, he found this, and wasnt sure if it was normal or not. Are those welds and burn marks normal? Anybody know???

was anything ever done to the chassis? thats the only thing i can think of.

they dont look factory, and if they were, they would be painted.

 

Definately not factory, it looks kike some suspension mods have been done to the car from the bottom, the SCCA sticker would suggest that some autocross racing has been done with the car so the welds are probably from suspension mods.

My apologies, that sticker was one that my friend just slapped on there when he took his interior out. He wants to go AutoX but hasnt yet. Thats the thing too, we dont know what was done to the car before, and we are thinking that it might have been some kind of suspension type thing, but dont know. Thanks for the help though!

Isn't the gas tank in that area on the underside of the car? I wonder what on earth could have done there??

hi i'm the owner of the car that all you guys are looking at the pictures of. I was n't wondering if that was normal or factory, so excuse my friend for asking that...He doesn't have good angles with the pics, but it apears to me that possibly a roll cadge was in the car, but then i tore the rest of the carpet up and found all the spot weilds, good ones i might ad. and those weilds are not from suspension work not right there and not all the way across the back like that...the is the fuel tank area so maybe fuel cell, or maybe someone just messed up really bad putting a fuel pump in the car who knows, but i know its defently not factory and its not suspension , beleave me i've had that car in the air many times and gone over the underbody with a fine tooth comb
