What are the common issues for an lt1 crank no start?

I know fuel/ignition is the main thing.

Just looking at a 96 impala SS says it cranks no start, guy can't figure it out.



Just curious, seeing one for sale for $4k, numbers matching.

 

Well, fuel and ignition being the main things, could be fuel pump, opti, coil. Those would be my 3 main focuses.

Fuel.... check the fuel pressure.

Ignition..... scan for codes.

Ignition switch/Security issue.

 

with ignition/security wouldn't it not crank?

I know optispark is a common issue, but is it a common crank no fire issue?
