Ideas please!!!!!
I have two questions. First of all my Shifter button on my auto transmission sometimes sticks in park. My ride is a 95 Z 28 LT1. I have noticed that this button sticking seems to happen more when the lights are on or blower (heater) motor is running. I can turn them off and step on the brakes and more times than not I can feel the solenoid release the shifter. I have been told several things by several people. i talked to someone at Ecklercamaro.com and they said its one of three things. The park/shift solenoid located in the console next to the shifter, or the brake light switch, or the neutral safety switch. Which ever it is it seems to be a voltage issue. When there is a demand for voltage elsewhere in the car i.e. the blower motor or lights theres not enough voltage getting to the park/shift solenoid. Any expertise here would be greatly appriciated. Just for the record the ignition switch and keys were just replaced due to dead car syndrom. That fixed the dead car syndrom but now I have this seemingly small problem. I just dont want to get caught miles from home or help with a car I cant get out of Park. lol
Second I am a newb to the computer controlled Camaro clan. My last Camaro was a 79. I know that the 5.7 is stock and pretty quick at launch. It does have the P,R,OD,D,2 shifter pattern, so I am assuming 2.73 rear end. But anyway I'd like to invest $1000 to $1500 putting a few more horses under this bad boy. Any suggestions will be appriciated. I have ordered a tuner for my car but have to research what I will do with it. Again any input will be considered a plus on either topic. Thanx
