I burned up a power inverter that takes 12vdc up to 280VAC @1500HZ. When i took it apart, its not complicated except i dont' know what kind of transistor I need or capacitor. It consits of 2 resistors 1 capacitor, 1 diode, 1 transistor, and the small transformer.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

 

The cap should be marked with the value, eg 200 MF. If it has a line of - - - - aligned with one terminal, it is polarized. The transistor will be marked. You can cross it on the internet, or local electronics supply house can cross it. Radio Shack has some parts, but it's not like the old days when it was a hobbiest's place.
