i need ALOT of help

i need ALOT of help

hi, im new to this site maybe some of you know mw from v8s10.org. anyways i have a 1988 camaro. ma mom has had it for years and i finaily talked her out of it. (im 17) when she got it it wasnt running some retard told her it needed a new motor. so she paid him for a new one. (well not new but w/e) it had a 5.0 in it. and tha dude put a carb 350 in it and did a horrible job. still didnt run. turns out tha fuel pump went out!!! she felt real smart after that! anyways it ran for awhile then idk what happen! that was 4 years ago it has just been sittin out in tha yard!!! a rat ate tha wiring harness!!! and i cant find a new one b/c tha ones i found are for EFI motors. i need some help on that!! i plan on rippin tha motor out and rebiuldin it anyways!!!so now for tha ?"s
1st) will a regular wiring harness be ok to use?
2nd)i cant find any replacment ground effects for it, it needs some whole new parts, side skirts front bumber and rear bumber
3rd)does this car use electric or machanical gauges?(speedo, tach and so on)
4th) i want this car to out run everything at ma highschool! i plan on strokin it to a 383! also a comp cam preditor carb(930 cfm) vortec heads and N2O. think that will do tha trick?
5th)this car does have a 700r4 trans....right???? if so what can i do to beef it up some?(im good wit motors but when it comes to transmissions...ima retard!!!!
6th) can tha stock rear handle drag slicks???? what rear does it have?
7th)would it be ok to convert it to an IROC? i know it will never be a true IROC but still, what i would i have to do?

should be able to get a wiring harness set up for a carb swap from a place like painless wiring. shouldn't be too hard.

not sure on the stock guages, but i'm pretty sure some are mechanical and some are electrical.

if you plan to run a stroker and juice....the rear probably won't hold up...least not for long. it has the standard 7.5" GM 10 bolt (common to all fbodies).

in all honesty, i would not worry about stroking the engine, save the money for good quality internals and you'll be better off...especially on the juice.

the trans will need to be rebuilt...factory they won't handle the kind of power you are thinking. lots of places do them, or you can just order a new one.

you should be able to find original gfx on ebay or something. not sure what is in the aftermarket for stock look replacements.
as for "making an IROC" ...if you just upgrade the suspension and wheels with current aftermarket pieces you'll be ahead of the handling ability of the IROC. springs, shocks, sway bars are the major suspension parts that make the IROC package.

looks like you have a BIG project ahead...and are still very uneducated as to how to make it happen. so do your research, and research each step separately...otherwise you'll get overwhelmed. plan your budget and do the work that needs to be done to run the car. what i mean is don't spend $1000 on ground effects and paint before you have the engine built.

I only know a couple anwsers but ill anwser what I do know.

But if you don't care about gas what so ever, then do it. Otherwise go fuel injection for your own sake.
5th)this car does have a 700r4 trans....right???? if so what can i do to beef it up some?- Yes it should have a 700r4, no idea on beef up part. id call some rebuild shops
6th) can tha stock rear handle drag slicks???? what rear does it have?-If it has the 10 bolt like most(all?) camaro's then no, it will most likely break quickly.
7th)would it be ok to convert it to an IROC?-Eh, by the time you done modifying the car it will be better then an IROC, of course my opinion is biased, I get tired of seeing "IROC" on the side then "RS" on the gfx.

ok thank yall!!! so keep it a 350? and EFI?!?!?!?!?!? i think not! i like carb set ups!!! sorry!!!! and are some good heads to use???? i was thinkin vortecs!!! any good? what are some good bolt ons 4 the car? and do they make true duals for 3rd gen???? i cant find and? what are some good headers? can yall post some pics of different set ups of yalls paint jobs and motors?

Sway bars

I noticed that you might be interested in some iroc parts. I helped a friend of mine with homework from school. He gave me some parts for payment. He gave me both the front and rear swaybars as payment as well as 4 sets of foglamps which I dont need any of these. These parts came out of a iroc convertable with a 350. He told me that the front sway bar was powder coated black about a year ago. He has sold his car and didnt need these parts but thought that I could sell these to get cash.
