how to program remote?
how to program remote?
on my 95 camaro? please very detailed instructions...........
is this "port" the obd port or...........?
1. Turn the ingition switch to off
2. Jumper program connector terminal 8 and 4 (look about where your right knee is, assuming a normal driving position, for a little plug. It has 8 holes on the top, 8 holes on the bottom- put the end of a paper clip in the 8th top hole, then put the other end of the paper clip in the 4th top hole). The door locks will lock and unlock in approximately two seconds
3. Press lock and unlock button on one of your remotes. Door locks will lock and unlock in approximately ten seconds. The RFA Module is now programmed for the first transmitter.
4. Repeat step 3 using other transmitter if you have more than one remote
5. Disconnect jumper from program connector.
Note: This is for a 1995 model. Another year model might be different.

that is a great instructions right there. yes, you need to use the programing port. called the "ALDL" port if your car is an early 95 model, you would have the obdI port though, and the procedure should be different.
if you have the obdII port (its asymetrical, as in NOT a rectangle. the top would be narrower then the bottom), the #s start from Left to Right. so the #8 is farthest to the right. and, if you look, it wouldnt work the otherway cause thats the only way it could be 4 and 8 due to a missing terminal IF it were from right to left.
also, I think after step 2, you need to turn the key to the run position. if the locks dont automaticallly cycle when you put the clip ("probe") in 4 and 8, then turn the key to run. then just hold both lock and unlock simultaniously until the locks cycle again.
