Actually, the lawsuits have been around for more than 10 years. Anyone can drum up enough complaints to file a class action lawsuit. Generally instigated by a law firm, trying to take a big % of the settlement. Think about it.... if Dex-Cool used in GM vehicles since 1996 was destroying engines, there would be millions of GM vehicle littering the highway. There were specific problems with specific GM engines. In the case of some truck engines, it was a cap that allowed excessive air into the system. I think there was a materials of construction incompatibility with some versions of the V6 engines. Beyond that, it's ambulance chasing lawyers.

I switched to Dex-Cool in my 94 Formula in 1995. I changed the coolant in 2000 when the stroker was built. There were no signs of sludge in the engine or radiator when they were removed from the car. I sold my original radiator to a friend, who couldn't believe how much better it cooled, because it was cleaner than the neglected radiator in his 95 T/A.

Now 9 years later, and one coolant change in the process, the engine, and high $$$ Griffin aluminum radiator are intact, and spotless with regard to the cooling system. Heater works fine - never been flushed, never leaked. 14 years with Dex-Cool, two interim changes at 5 years each, and no problems. I think this result is far more typical of the results most 4th Gen F-Body owners have experienced. The rest is a bunch of histrionics.

@Injuneer, When Elon finishes his brain interface, please download all of your knowledge to some sort of wikipedia page. Over the years I have come to trust a select few who speak about our cars with you being the leader. I have a feeling that what is covered in these forums is but a fraction of what knowledge you have. Just sayin'...
