how accurate is the g-tech
Anyone know how accurate the g-tech data acquisition tool is that plugs into your cigarette lighter and you stick to you windshield? For those that dont know you put you vehicle weight in and accelerate your car from a stop,it supposed to tell you your horsepower.I came up with 212 hp for my car,but my car also has a partially plugged cat.

.2 or .3 is ALOT...
i'd be more concerned with consistency. that way you can use it to measure each mod. if it reads 10 different readings on 10 different runs that are all exactly the same car...there is something wrong...
but if it is within .05 or so on each run....i would think it would be good for finding how much you gain/lose from a mod.
i've also heard the ETs are good, but the mph are a bit high....but that it IS consistent

I also have heard the mph is off on the 1/4 mile times but the times are close. I bought one hoping I wouldn't have to press so many buttons before getting my stats. They list a margin of error in the booklet.

Re: how accurate is the g-tech
The orginal g-tech is not very accurate at all. When my car was stock it gave me 336 rwhp and a 13.1 quarter mile @ 107. With the mods I have now it gives me 394 rwhp and 12.4 quarter mile @ 112.
Real dyno testing results:
stock: 291 rwhp
current : 313 rwph
stock 1/4 mile: 13.8 @102.5
current 1/4 mile : 13.5 @107.1 (very bad traction )
It is not very accurate. Usually 3-5 tenths off and about 5 mph off
The NEW g-tech pro (or whatever its called) is actually pretty accurate, I have not personally tested it but talked to many people who have and it is within 1-2 mph and 1-2 tenths.
