hooking up a a/f gauge to my 02 camaro ls1

i have a question on how to hook it up because when i went to find the o2 sensor there are o2 sims on there but i still have the cats would it be ok to hook it up to the or is there another way i can hook it up let me know thanks Brian

Your 02 Camaro LS1 has four O2 sensors.... on each side of the exhaust system you will find one in front of the cat, and one after the cat. If you found an O2 sensor harness connector with a sim in it, it is an after cat sensor. You can't replace the pre-cat sensors with sims.

The purple wire going to your O2 sensor is the wire you want, thats the signal wire. You may want to follow that wire past the connector and tap into the actual O2 sensor so you dont have to tap into your factory wiring but that doesnt really matter. Then you just have to get a switched 12v and ground to power the gauge, I usually use a blade terminal and plug into one of the empty spots on your fuse box.
