Hood Release Broke

So...anybody have any ideas on how to pop my hood now that the hood release cable is broken? It snapped off at the very front of the car where it connects there. What do I do?

BTW, the car has things that need doing under the hood...like tonight, so I need to know ASAP!

Re: Hood Release Broke

Hey Zeph;

That happened to my daughter's Cavalier. I crawled under the front, figured out which lever worked the opening process, tied a wire around it. Made the wire long enough to grab from the front, but not too long to interfere with any moving parts. Do not know if this will help, since I haven't looked for the hood lock while under my '02 Z changing the oil. Others here will probably give you more specific details. Best of luck.

Steve

Re: Hood Release Broke

Hey, thanks for your help. In the meantime, I did crawl under the car (hard to do since it is lowered) and start pulling on things up front trying to find the lever and I did. I'm working on repairing the hood release cable right now, so I think I've got everything handled. Thanks again for your suggestion, consider this topic now closed.
