Just like it says, i have a dyno appointment tomorow. Is there anything i need to know as far as knowing what to do, and how to drive the car on the dyno? ive never done it before, and i dont want to do something stupid and look like a dummy head.

Thanks,

The guys running the Dyno will put and tie the car down and will run the test while you watch. This is normal procedure.

Liability, thats an American concept i think. Any other country and "loser pays". no frivilous lawsuits.

Just make sure that everything is in good running order, no leaks, good u-joints...Let them know if you have any driveline vibrations, etc....If you have any weaknesses in the driveline they may pop up on the dyno...If you've upped the power and have not fortified the driveline it may rear its ugly head on the dyno...been there, done that...and its good to have a front and rear drive shaft loop(s)...Good luck...

i havent done anything like that. i havnt had any problems really, but i dont know. i dont have loops, but i dont see how flooring it on the dyno and flooring it in real life from a roll would be much different.

The dyno rollers put more stress on a car than the street...I've been told that the dyno puts more stress on the car than at the track...Having put my driveshaft thru the floor of my car at 6100 rpms on the dyno, yet never breaking anything while racing the car for 10 years...I'd say I agree...

The dyno shop I went to offered to let me do it. Let the car cool down inbetween pulls if you can.

Dyno shops vary. Some let you sit in the car, some don't. For a 6-speeder, all you do is put it in direct drive (4th), then stomp it to the floor @ ~2,000 rpm on their signal, then try and let off before you hit the rev limiter. And NEVER use your brakes on the dyno. If you do, you'll hear about it.
