A4 or M6?
Aside from the generic used car stuff you'd check, some things that have come up on LS1 f-bodys are warped brake rotors, burning excess oil, bad cat convertors, slow power windows (notorious on these cars!) and any potential problems with the rear axle. Generally as long as the car was treated decently you should have no problems...

Guessing your bolt-ons (cat-back, shorty headers, air filter, and HP tuner) and assuming your an M6 I'd guess you'd be at 310-315 HP.
By the way the Hypertech programming has been known to actually lower HP in some cases.

m6, sorry. aren't these supposed to make 305-325 stock? yeah, i plan on getting it "flashed" back to stock. how do i do that? how would i tell if the cats are bad? should i just cut them out anyways? how would i check for the oil? the only way i know is to run your finger in the pipe. thanks.

Re: hey guys, first post, need some help

You can use the Hypertech to return it to stock programing. And LS1's burn oil one of two ways what goes by the rings or what gets pumped through the PCV.

As for the cats leave them in, if they are bad (usually drivers side) it will throw a code and stink.

And just a note all 98-02 LS1's are usually good for 330-350 flywheel HP.
