Help! Troubleshoot Power Windows

My '98 SS is on it's third drivers door power window motor. It's been working fine and today, it decided not to go up....not even budge. How can I trouble shoot the rocker switch or which wires would I touch to bypass the switch. There seems to be four wires associated with each window switch. The Passenger door window works fine from both of it's switches.

I read about bypassing the relay mod and removing the thermal bypass but not ready to tackle that.....yet.

I just want to see if the motor is working or not.

Thanks

Well an easy way to do it would be to send direct power to the widow motor
to see if it moves that way, if it does then you would probaly want to go after the relay or switch

Thanks for the quick reply, I have the switch panel removed from the door panel so I can see the wires. Which wires would I touch?

There should be two wires coming from the motor send power to them from a 12 volt power source to go one way and then switch the wires around for the motor to go the other way.

See if that works

Talking

Thanks, I tested the power wire with the up / down wires while toggling the switch and my test light lit. I could also hear the relay click when toggling the switch, but the window didn't budge. This is the first time I have experienced the motor just dying with no forwarning.

I replaced the motor and the window works great.....thank AutoZone for Lifetime warranties.
