Hey, I'm looking to determine if an SS is real... I checked and it had code WU8 on the RPO sticker when I had access to it, but now I'm reading that it wouldn't have WU8 being a 1996, but would have R7T instead, which I didn't check for. Does this mean it could be fake if it had WU8 on a 1996? Can anyone clear this up for me?

 

Call SLP with the VIN. They can tell you if it's a real SS.

According the the Camaro White Book 96/97 is R7T (SLP full conversion), and 98+ is WU8 (in-house conversion with hood, spoiler and SLP options by SLP).
