Heater not working...?

Well here's the story. It all started cuz my A/c was not funtioning, it was blowing air, but just hot air. So I went to a local shop a had it refill. So it worked just fine after that. But now that it's time to use the heater, it only blows cold air?? I kind of wanna try to fix it my self, so if you folks could give me any ideas as to where to begin. I would appreciate it.

Re: Heater not working...?

The most common cause of no heat is a clogged heater core. Remove the heater hoses at the water pump and flush both ways with a garden hose. Keep moisture off the opti.

YOU do not know what you are talking about

What I did instead of taking it off at the water pump, I took it off at the firewall. Then took some 1/2" and I think 3/4" tubing (because they are two different sizes) and ran a hose through it very slowly one way, with a bucket catching the mess on the other end. After an hour of flushing both ways it was clean and bam! I had heat.

I just put the hose right in at the firewall. I flush it in both directions and a bunch of junk comes out. After that the heater is nice and toasty.

What I described is the easiest/fastest way, IMO.

agreed, plus no risk of breaking the tubes off the heater core if the hoses are stuck.....

Re: Heater not working...?

Great advice !!

I'll definitely try that. I'm an early bird, I get up usually around 4 am(not by choice) and it's freaking cold. so hopefully this will take care of the problem.

Thanks.
