headlight gear problem (not the typical grinding motor issue)
headlight gear problem (not the typical grinding motor issue)
I don't usually use my headlights as i just got new fog light bulbs and they seem brighter than the headlights anyway, and the car looks so much better with the lights down, but anyway onto the issue
tonight i did turn on the headlights and the passenger side headlight only went up 3/4 of the way
i figured the bolt was loose or something cause i could pull the headlight up to the right position and it seemed to stay, but then if the shaft shifted it would drop down to the 3/4 position, and it seemed like it was skipping or something...
i got home (i drove hiome with the fiogs on, i pretty much do all the time now) and took a 10mm wrench to the bolt holding the shaft to the motor... that "seemed" to do the truck, the headlight was tight and in the proper position.. so i shut off the lights, and then turned them back on, and the pass side headlight again only went up 3/4 of the way...
what gives? do i have a bad spot on the headlight gear? im pretty sure this is the original one as i flipped it a few years ago after it started grinding, and its been fine ever since...
does it need a new gear now? (if it does, im probably just gonna leave it for now and just use the fog lights)
FWIW i thought i heard a click or something when the light got to the top position, i think maybe it got there and then fell, it did seem to also go up pretty slow, but it never made any grinding noise whatsoever
