hatch and unlock works... lock doesnt!
hatch and unlock works... lock doesnt!
Cant figure it out. Everything on my remote works except the lock function. Unlock functions and hatch release works fine. Also the doors unlock from the inside, but will not lock using the door switch. Any ideas? I'm stuck using a cheap haynes book and it's not showing me much of anything...I need a GM service manual. Thanks!
Re: hatch and unlock works... lock doesnt!
I only have the Haynes manual as well, but from what I can see from the schematic, the failure you describe could occur if just one of the two door switches is bad. In order for the lock actuator to work it must pass current through both door switches to complete the circuit even though you are only pressing one of the lock buttons. Figuring out which one is the bad one is tricky part.
Re: hatch and unlock works... lock doesnt!
i have a similar problem, all mine works but the unlock, i talked to a buddy and he said that there is 3 things under the dash, 1 for each function. as soon as i figure out what the "things" are i will post it for ya.

I found this schematic on Shoe box and it does have more detail. http://shbox.com/1/keyless_schematic.jpg
I still think the problem will be one of the door switches. If relay #1 was bad then you would not be able to lock the doors with the remote, but you would still be able to lock the doors with either of the door switches. If one of the door switches is bad then you will not be able to lock the doors with either of the door switches or with the remote. Try removing the door switch and ohm out between terminals E and C, with the switch in the neutral position, you should measure close to 0 ohms. Then do the same across terminals D and B. I predict that one of the switches will have an open across one of these terminals.
