Guages?

Well guys, my birthday is comming up, and I am thinking about asking for a couple guages.

My question is, where could I mount some guages at?
I know the typical A-Pillar

But, I have noticed the nice empty opening where the CD's would store (in front of the shifter, beside the cigarette lighter).
Has anybody mounted any guages there?
Im just wondering if anybody has, because That is where I am thinking of mounting mine at.

Do a search in the appearence section for "cassett holder mod" or "gauges" I think you can fit 2 in that space.

i want to put an LT1 Scanmaster in my "cassette tape holder" but they are exxxxxxpensive! i wish the Camaros held out one year later before changing the dash design because i dont have the cool slanty vent holes that the 96 and unders do.

I haven't drilled the holes out yet, but here is where I'm mounting oil temp and trans temp gauges. The plate pictured snaps over that cassette tape hole:

Bear in mind, that this is currently a work-in-progress, and my project is only partially finished. With that said, let me show you where else I mounted my gauges:

Basically, I bought a dual gauge dash pod for a 94-98 Mustang, and with a very small amount of sanding the corners down, it mounts up flushly. It's a perfect use of that "useless" space created from the steep rake of the 4th gen's windshield...

I bought it years and years ago from RK Sport. Not sure if you can get these things anymore. They wouldn't be all that difficult to make, if you have the right "know-how"...

RK Sport DID stop making them. Your best bet would be to get something custom done if you are set on putting gages there. Just find someone who knows how to work well with fiberglass, and it shouldn't be too hard. I had a shop make me a piece to mount my wideband 02 screen which also shows my EGT level and exact boost level for mine (sorry no pics).

Other than that, the pillar gages look good, and if you are looking for another place to put an LT1 scanmaster, I have seen several guys put them inside one of the drivers side vents in the dash (Camaro's).

yeah, im not too crazy about putting scanmaster in the vent. I am thinking of just skipping the guages and buying a scanmaster, and modding the ashtray a little bit to make it work.
