Check for leaks/cracks in/from the manifolds. You could have a gas leak which wouldn't be good too. Look around for wetness near the fuel rails and fuel lines.

but this only happen after i took out my sedning unit and changed it!!!

i think i may have knocked open a gas line or something!!!

sorry im a lil intoxicatd, i cant think of the name im trying to thingk of!!

Did the car have any amplifiers, or anything mounted in the rear deck lid? If so chances are whomever mounted it, used too long of screws and pierced the tank, which alot of people over look the tank being so close to the sheet metal....When you sober up hopefully you can supply more info...

well what happen was it started to smell after i messed around the sending unit taking it in and out bout 5 times!!!

i amde sure the rubber piece was sealed, but i think i may have knocked opne a vacuum line for the fumes!! or somthing!!

That's what happened to me after the butt monkey at Best Buy installed my radio set up. The drilled the amp right into the tank. Not to hijack your theard, but it seems you answered you own question. What would cause my gas cap to back off? Every so often I smell gas when I shut the car down only to find that the gas cap is loose??
