I just got 250 miles out of a tank, and that's driving in downtown Houston traffic with my heavy foot and the mods in the sig below. I think that comes out to around 17.8mpg. Not bad, I think.

My 95 Z28 (LT1, auto 2.73's) got about 24 mpg on the highway.

My 01 SS (LS1, stick, 3.42's) gets about 27 on the highway.

That's with the A/C on & cruising roughly around 80 mph.

Re: Gas Mileage of your LT1/LS1 car?

I get around 225-240 miles to the tank or about 16 mpg consistently. This is mostly city driving with a very heavy right foot. Haven't checked it strictly highway. According to my gas guage I can go around 125 miles on the first 1/4 tank and then only 115 on the next 3/4 tank. That last 1/4 tank goes really quick. Not the most accurate guage in the world.

Re: Gas Mileage of your LT1/LS1 car?

I get between 250 and 300 miles on a tank around town and usually between 300 and best 390 on the hwy. So, that's around 18 in town and 26 on hwy. Not too bad for 3.73s

Re: Gas Mileage of your LT1/LS1 car?

Over the life of my car (69k miles), I have averaged 20.5 mpg. Max is 31.3 mpg and min is 16 mpg. Yes, I have tracked it every fill up since I bought it new. I have it in an Excel spreadsheet and everything.

Interestingly my gas milage has stayed the same even after the CAI, headers and catback and wider tires even though I was making about 40 more HP. Gotta love intake and exhaust mods.

Lightbulb I don't know how some of you guys do it !

Best ever highway on the SS was 24 - that was w/ the stall , and after a fresh set of plugs.

Last highway trip I took was last Sunday - less stall now, but w/ 3K ish old plugs.

I had the cruise on most of the way , with one little up to 125 pull going over a big brige in Baytown.

I put on like 115 miles - ~ 35 ish city.

That tank was worth like 19.5 MPG.

Kinda disappointing.

Oh, well - it gets better mileage than the 4 x Suburban !

Re: Gas Mileage of your LT1/LS1 car?

Is there something wrong because i have never seen close to 300 to a tank in my car with the bolt on's listed. My 02 sensor was acting up a little while back making the car very sluggish off of the start.. Any ideas on what could be the problem??
