fuel consuption at 1/4 throttle

Re: fuel consuption at 1/4 throttle
The LS1 uses slightly less than the LT1, AFAIK.
For cruising, it's much easier to quantify fuel usage based on RPM than it is based on throttle position, especially in cars with automatic transmissions. If I'm driving my Z28 at 70mph in 6th gear, I'm doing roughly 1550 rpm and getting roughly 29mpg. That works out to 2.41 gallons of fuel per hour. If we work it out even further, it works out to 0.0982 milliliters of fuel per revolution.
When you're accelerating, the car will obviously use more gas when you give it more throttle, but there is still a tie to engine RPM. If I floor it in 6th from 70mph, I'm not going to use nearly as much gas as if I did the same in 3rd.
I might have something wrong here, but I'm fairly sure about all that.
