freight shipping an lt1 engine. what company and how much?

If I wanted to ship an engine... what is the best means of doing so.. it is an lt1 block still in the shipping crate it was received in which is like a half wooden frame kinda boxed thing with wires holding it together partially. I need to ship from boston to florida.. Anyone have any ideas. I have never done this before and need to know the best way to do it. I know that people ship engines all the itme on here so somone knows!

I tried using the calculator on UPS.com and it gave me next day and 2 day delivery which I don't need??? Why don't they just tell you what a ground shipment would cost? I entered 325 lbs for the weight and a pallet of 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet which should be close to the actual size. The calculator was a waste of time and google search comes up with a million random places and services...

You need a general freight forwarding company,,Conway Freight for example. Expect to pay in the $200/300 range. Also note they do not pick-up and you will need to get the pallet to a terminal.

I just had a shortblock shipped to me in Chicago from Texas and it was only $150 for truck freight. EGL Eagle Global Logistics did it for me.
