Fixing cracked center consol
Fixing cracked center consol
Well the other day when it was like -15 i pulled up my ebrake and it actually cracked off a piece of the plastic b/c it was so cold.
Thoughts on fixing it, fiberglass, some kind of epoxy? What works well? Color is black so should be easy to match, but i have to get the fake grain in there somehow too.

The best fix would be getting a plastic welder and actually welding it. Besides that I've also had good luck with an epoxy that Walmart carries called Plastic Welder. Its rated at up to 3500 psi and is extremely strong and bonds well. I suggest that. It sets up in about 5 mins and is completely hardened after 24hrs.

Thanks for the reply. I havent found the chip it broke off yet (likely under the console somewhere). But if i dont find it, is the epoxy tacky/thick enough to reform the missing piece to start with? Its only 1 inch by .5 inch or so
Re: Fixing cracked center consol
Yes it is somewhat workable but you'll probably need to practice on something first just to get an idea how fast it sets. I found that a little over build ,and then sand to size works better, and it does dry to a cream color so painting will be required. If yo find the missing piece just put a little on the edgethen build it up underneath for an almost invisible fix.
