Firebird Door Swap

I've got a 1989 firebird formula that I'm working on as a project car. Like most formula's here in Wisconsin they rust out behind the front wheels, doors and in front of the rear wheels. I've been all over the junk yards here in Wisconsin and nobody has any Firbird or Firebird Formula doors, they all have Trans Am's. My question is will a Trans Am door fit and work on my Formula. Every thing looks the same except the Trans Am's had the lower rocker panel extension and the door filler, which is why they almost never rust out. If the Trans Am door will work, how much body work is involved on the door once I take off the plastic door filler. Someone told me there would be 3 holes to fill in left over from the screws. I always thought these plastic pieces were held on with doulble face tape. Any info would be great. I can't find and reproduction doors, only factory GM threw classic industries at $1200 for 1 which is way out of the question. Thanks to all that reply.

Well, I went to another bone yard today and they had 17 trans am's between 85-92 and no firebirds or formulas, and about half of the doors looked really good. Still waiting for someone to sent a response on what their thought is about putting trans am door on a formula car as stated above.

On the late 80's J-bodies those lower door fillers are held on by studs through the door skin. I would assume that if the J-body has studs so would the trans am. Also, on my 89 RS they are held on by studs through the door. It's 4 holes IIRC, about 1/4" to 3/8" each.
