file for car not found.

Anyways, I've been trying to get my car fixed and nothing seems to be working. I took it to a local shop to get it tuned and stuff, but they say they can't pull out the files from my car. Or more like they don't have the file for my car. So that means I may never be able to renew my plates for my car. My car is a 2002 Firebird V6 and I don't know of any more way to try to fix my car. Any ideas? Oh yeah one dealership I took it to said that the problem "system too lean on bank 1 and 2" was in the history and it should pass the smog check, but my SES light is still on.

So far I tried to change three O2 sensors fuel filter, and air filter and still nothing.

A good shop should be able to pull the codes out of your computer and fix it..

Re: file for car not found.

You can buy an OBD-II code reader for less than $50. The GM codes lists, with specific information on your car are at:

http://service.gm.com/gmspo/mode6/

Also, find a new shop because the ones you've tried so far are bumbling incompetents.

After you get the codes, come back here before you start buying new parts in the hope that they will fix the problem.
