Few ??s from New Owner

Hey. I just bought a 94 Z28 a couple weeks back and have been bugging a few things out, but got a couple questions:

The car came with 2.73 gears, so no LOW on the shifter. Can I swap to a 4-speed shifter and be able to hold 1st? Anyone know of a semi-drop in (I'm not afraid of cutting a little plastic or fab'ing up brackets) that will fit the factory console?

On that same note, I have the 115mph speedo. If I swap to a 155, can a custom tune do the... conversion... so it reads properly, or is there more to it?

The wiper motor- WTH?! In intermittent, it stops at, like, 35% swipe, causing even more blind spots than it already has!! And, when parking them after cleaning the windshield, they always have that irritating "bounce back", that ruins an otherwise clean windshield... Do ALL the 4th gens have this same wiper motor or do the later models have regular motors, where the blade is (or almost is) in the park position during intermittent use?

Nearly everytime I pop the hood... the TRANS dipstick is pushed out an inch or so- any ideas what that is?!

I've been here for a couple months, following the '10, but I've been reading the 4th gen forum for a couple weeks, so please don't throw the "use the search" business at me... I'm steadily searching !! I did find why I have no heat (flushed the core today... wow, whatayaknow!!). I've fixed a few other issues (no power seat or mirrors, missing parts...). I'm trying

But a little help would be most appreciated

Oh- and I'm waiting on my PCM4Less tune... should be here a-n-y-d-a-y I'll report up on that... but I'm sure y'all are already well familiar with them.

Well, thanks for any help.

You can access "1" simply by pulling the face plate off the shifter and filing down the small plastic tab that blocks the lever from moving into "1". Alternatively, you could find the corresponding stock parts with "1" included on the indicator and swap them.... direct replacement, no cutting.

Same with the speedo cluster.... just swap it out for one with a "150" speedo, no reprogramming needed.

Injuneer, I saw your reply last night at my other post and tried to reply and say thanks... but my computer took a dump

In any case, thanks for the info. I'm gonna go out there in a few and check it out

Hah!! How simple was that?! While out, I even took the console completely apart and cleaned it up. If anyone's wanting to do this mod, I got pics of it. (I also have pics of repairing your windshield spray nozzles, heater core flush (yeah, old news by now, I'm sure!!), some other stuff)

So how about some of those other questions, dudes ?! The wiper motor, the trans dipstick?

Got another one- anyone have a down-firing sub set-up in a 4th gen? I did a search on that and didn't find much...

Thanks again, Injuneer.
