Fairly new A/C blows warm and smells odd sometimes

Had the compressor replaced about a month and a half ago, it seemed to have been REAL cold then. was driving around today(high of around 95 outside) and noticed that sometimes the A/C would get warm. It would fluctuate quite a bit while cruising from cold to not so cold, and then back to cold when at idle. think there is an issue?

Also, I can smell what seems like a moldy type of smell when the car is first started, and then goes away a couple of minutes later. All of this just started today...its probably the hottest weather it has actually been driven in in a while, but the compressor is new along with the drier.

Sounds like when mine was fixed. When they replaced the compressor, did they replace the outer thing(sorry for the layman terms),round thing that actually grabs the compressor to run it?It's the outer cap kinda thing that can't be re -used from the old system. If thats the case, they have to replace it ,otherwise the thing will keep slipping. You'll problably have to pay extra for this.Hope this helps.

is it possible there is air in the system that seems to only show up when there is a load on it or something? just drove it briefly, and while I never noticed the smell, the temp would still fluctuate a lot while driving. At a stop and idling, it would get pretty cold.
