ERROR message!

There has been an ERROR message on my car for quite some time now and i have no idea how to get it off! It says it where my mileage is supposed to go so i actually don't know how many miles i have on my car. The car is a 97 z28. If anyone knows how to fix it i would appreciate all the help.

Odometer "ERROR"

Did you ever find out why it displayed "ERROR" on the odometer? If so, what was it?
Thanks.

Thanks Injuneer. I thought it was going to be a shot in the dark. Have you heard of "ERROR" being displayed in place of your odometer reading? I would like to fix this myself but I guess I will have to take it to the dealership if I want it fixed or diagnosed. Thanks in advance.

I don't have any codes. I asked a GM mechanic about it and he didn't have a clue. Just suggested that I drop it off for them to diagnose.

Of course they say that, they want you to spend $90 bucks for them to tell you the problem is a $10 part, then charge another $100 for labor to put it in. Research it yourself. You could spend that money better on a set of factory GM manuals.
