Engine Spray

Kind of a weird question, but is it a good idea to spray off your engine ? Or is there something that I could wipe it down with ? Mine is very dusty and what not but I don't want to hurt anything such as electronics. So I don't know what to do really, any suggestions ?

Thanks !

They have stuff at the parts store called "Engine Degreaser" thats used to clean the engine/under the hood. You just spray it on,let it sit, then hose it off.

Putting a rag over the alternator is a good idea and dont spray directly at wiring harnesses and other stuff that shouldnt get "soaked".

the degreaser by Gunk did a pretty good job but never seemed to get the real deep grit off... geuss the only way to do that is with an old fashion rag
