Dynoed my LT1.

took my 1994 M6 to a dynojet dyno tonight. ran a peak of 234 hp at 5k, and 293.82 tq at 3.5k. it had two misses, one at 5.3, and again at 5.7. i can't get it to miss on the street, i think it is the longer time at high rpms required on the dyno (1st gear on the street goes by a lot faster than 3rd on the dyno). fuel pump or filter? the car is stock except for a cutout. i thought the tq was good, but i was expecting more hp out of an M6 with a cutout? i wasn't running quite right to, so that may be it.

edit:

That is pretty low.

My 94 M6 did 270 WRHP and 310 RWTQ with just the ramair and a borla catback. Now that i've got headers installed I'd guess it to be around 290. Is it time for a tuneup?

Is it running right? What is the A/F ratio?
I ran mine with the cutout closed and open, it didn't make a difference with the Borla.

Do you own a laptop? Do you have a OBD1 -> USB cable? Scanning software is free, it might help you to post a data log from a dyno pull for other members to analyze.

I captured my dyno runs on my laptop, but I never bothered looking to hard at them because the graph showed what I expected.

well, it runs great, except that miss on the dyno that i can't duplicate on the street. i think i will be able to when i get on the interstate. don't know the a/f. have a laptop, guess i'll get a cable.

I've done more thinking about this, and your results may not be that bad.

The LT1 was rated at 275 hp stock in 94. Subtract 15% drivetrain loss for the M6 and you get 233.75. Your 234 is dead on.

I guess i didnt think my catback and ram air would be worth that much increase. I also forgot to mention I have my PCM tuned.

It still seems strange that you have those dips in the dyno curve. How long has it been since you did a tune-up on the car?

Have you also considered checking your fuel pressure at WOT to make sure you aren't starved of fuel?

I agree with the above post, put on a fuel pressure gauge and observe the pressure under load. If it dips and doesn't hold steady, then that may be a sign of needing a new pump.

yeah, they were misses. like cutting out. it feels alot like the speed limiter. so, fual sounds likely.
