driver-side weatherstrip leaks, need advice

The weatherstripping on the driverside door, up at the back/top of the window, water leaks pretty consistently (drips the whole time), and I need to fix it.

I called the dealership, with labor and parts it's 200+ bucks to fix it, so that's not an option. I'd do it myself and buy the parts on ebay, but I'm not confident enough in myself to do it right. Is there any alternative? I was thinking some type of silicone injection to puff out the stripping or something (that may have sounded incredibly retarded, don't blame me if it did).

Help me out if you have any suggestions.

I've read on here that getting sub frame connectors will sometimes stop leaks. I'll tell you by the end of the week, during heavy rain my tops leak just a bit onto my seats, we'll see if that changes when I get the sub frames in.

You can get a set of them for around $150-200, it makes a huge difference in the car (from what I've read, can't wait to find out) and it helps annoying things like rattles and leaks.

Just an idea

Subframes will not stop leaks. They may help prevent future leaks. They are installed with the suspension loaded, therefore they do nothing for you untill you hit a bump our take some curves.

To fix your problem for free, visit shbox.com and look up his power window adjustment page. You have to take the door panel off and there is 2 screws that you can slide the whole assembly up and make the glass seat better. I did this on mine, and no more problems.

I had the saem problem....

Pulled the weatherstripping away from the edge slightly... Caulked underneath with clear bathroom caulk and slipped it back into place...

Actually you probably just need to reset the weatherstripping properly.... Mine was folded away from the lip it slides onto... Just yank it out and take a look and then seal it back up with clear bathroom caulk as you slide it all back over the lip

No leaks and I can put the nozzle of the hose right up to the window...
