I have the Callies Magnum, which is one step up from the Dragonslayer. It was about $1,150 direct from Callies. That was about 7 years ago. I can't see why they would charge $2,000 for a Dragonslayer.

Balancing with a whole lot of mallory slugs could account for the price difference, doesn't seem likely though.

Just go find the best deal. I usually buy my stuff used anyway so I couldn't tell you who has the best prices on new stuff. Check the supporting vendors page on this site, there should be a few that sell callies cranks. VRE is a good company to work with from what I hear.

Sounds like the engine builder is getting his mark-up of 100%.
