Does 98+ fuel sending unit work in 94?

Does 98+ fuel sending unit work in 94?
It seems that the design for the sending unit in the 98+ models are a little more advanced and not as blocky. Well i need a whole new sending unit in my 94 so would it be ok to just get a 98+ style, or is the wiring differnt?
