Documenting a 69 RS Z28

I just became a member. I have read posts on this site in the past and there seems to be a lot of very knowledgeable people here so maybe some of you could help me.

I recently inherited a 69 RS Z28 from my cousin. The only "official" documentation I have is a chassis broadcast sheet in not too good of shape and a couple of appraisals from the late 90's.

VIN 124379L511154

As far as cowl tag, and I have decoded it, is:
69 124379 LOS164825
711 69 69
12A A524

Built in LA first week of December 1968, 524th body started at the plant on December 2nd.

Standard black interior, Rallye Green with no vinyl top.

Original DZ302 3932386
Original Muncie M21
Original 12 Bolt 4.10 Posi rear
Original intake manifold
Carb is not original, but I am looking for one
Heads are not original but I am looking for a set even though these are recently rebuilt
Original Cowl hood

I want to restore this car as authentically as possible, but I am not going to sell it so I don't know how crazy I will go with the heads and carb.

The main problem with LA cars is the lack of codes on the cowl plate. The other issues stem from the numerous changes made to the Z28 package during the first few months of the production year. Right after my car was produced, the VIN and cowl plate designation for Los Angeles was changed to V and VN. I am pretty positive it is a true 69 RS Z/28, but I want to find out for sure.

And no, I do not have the trim tag, body broadcast, original sales order, etc.

Does anybody know of a way to get old records?

I am also looking for a front sub assembly if anyone knows of one floating around.

Thanks in advance for the help, I will post pictures as it comes together.

Mark
