Do O2 sims really work??

My muffler guy told me that he removed the cats from a guys 98' WS6 TA and that the guy had O2 sims and it ran like crap afterwards. Said that " it made every service engine and vehicle light come up." Said the guy brought his car back to have the cats reinstalled and it ran fine. This week, I'm hooking me up the SLP loudmouth and he's going to cut me a 3" y-pipe, but I would rather have the cats removed while Im doing the job, If it doesnt make my SES light come up......Any suggestions???

That's such BS. He probably hooked them to the wrong wires.

Rear O2 sensors , the ones after the cats, have absolutely nothing to do with how the car runs.........NOTHING. All they do is monitor whether or not the cats are functioning. You can just unhook them. The car will run fine. It'll turn on the SES light but it'll run just fine.

I love when people try and feed you a line of BS when they should just be quiet instead. ah the wonders of uninformed people. Bet thats the last time you listen to a guy at a muffler shop eh?

So, how much of an improvment will I see with no cats and a 3" y-pipe? I also heard that the loudmouth sounds crappy without cats. Will the loudmouth really benefit from having off road y-pipe or does it breath well enough with cats??? Just want to check around before I invest $400 in my exhaust....Thanks!!

Any exhaust will benefit with no cats.
