distributor

Got a quick question gang is the rotor on the distributor cap supposed to spin smoothly n not rough,I just remembered when I was fixing the mechanics mistakes to my camaro i remembered when I was turning the rotor it was not smooth.

I have another one brand new in a box in my closet n the rotor spins nice n smooth, can a not smooth rotor cause bad hesitating at high rpm?

Re: distributor

"Not smooth" means bad bearing. If it's worn bad enough, could cause the rotor to wobble.

Sure... the faster the rotor spins, the more it's going to vibrate if it isn't perfectly balanced. Did you loc-tite the rotor screws before installing? they have a habit of coming loose and falling out.

Actually Fred a mechanic did the distributor cap Idk wat he did,the hesitating all started 3-4 months after he worked on it last year,n I been chasing this too long.

I have another distributor brand new in box,I'm a lil nervous taking the screws and loctiting them, but I'm assuming that's assuming n heard that's important.

Thank you for responding
