Which Dist Block For ABS Removal??
Which distribution block was everyone going with on the ABS removal?? I heard something about using one off a 3rd gen and something about using one from an impala?? Which one is it? Also did anyone come to the conclusion that a proportional valve was needed or not?

I just completed this mod using the Summit proportioning valve and a Biondo line lock from Summit. Right now I'd have to say that this was one of the most PITA mods I've done. Never again will mess with a flare tool!!!
The proportioning valve was probably not needed. I've had to open mine up all the way and I'm still not positive the rear brakes are getting enough pressure.
Not sure what you mean by the distribution block....I didn't need one.

A friend of mine had the ABS on his 30th SS convertible removed by a former Formula 1 mechanic who seemed to know what he was talking about. The mechanic used the Impala distribution block, with a separate proportioning valve for the rear brakes. The car is currently running Mark Williams drag brakes, and the setup will pull the car down nicely from 160mph trap speeds. Above 160mph, he pulls the 'chute 
I've seen a number of people on here (Brady comes to mind) who simply put a proportioning valve in the line coming from the master cylinder for the rear brakes, and a line lock in the line for the front brakes, and had no problems either. They generally comment that the proportioning valve doesn't seem to do much, and is left full open.

This is exactly what I did and would have to say that the proportioning valve is not really needed. I've even heard of some who opened the valve all the way out and still could get enough pressure to the rear so they would take the guts out of the valve and run it wide open.

So could I just run the the coming out of the rear port on the master cyl to a line lock and then split it out to the two front brakes, and then use the port on the front of the master cyl to connect to the line that runs to the rear brakes and just call it good then?
