Disabling interior dome lights?

I HATE how the lights come on when you open the door. I don't see the pressure switch on my 2001.. Anyone got some info on this? All i had to do on my 95 was cut the wire on the door.

Why not just pull the bulbs?

On mine, the door switch is on the body, below the lower door hinge. I've seen people put a piece of metal with a screw next to the switch, so you can depress the switch and pivot the piece of metal over it to keep the switch from popping out when you open the door. That way, you have the option of moving the metal strap so the lights will work when you want them to.

Yes that's where it is on my 1995, but it's not there on my 2001.
