Did a stall converter take getting use to?

How does a car feel with a higher stall torque converter installed as far as a daily driver goes? I am trying to imagine how pressing the gas pedal and have to wait for the car to go feels like, If I could get used to that.

That's what it is like basically? press the gas,... wait...then it goes...? lol

What is this like in say...bumper to bumper downtown or interstate traffic?

I don't drag race. I don't street race. But I like a faster car. Manuals are pretty much out of the question because I have a dodgy knee that after a few miles driving a manual I'd have to take both hands to press on my knee to get the clutch disengaged. (that sucks cuz I love sticks, I still have my bike though) anywayyyy what's a stall car feel/handle like...

My 99' S10 SE 4.3L V6 has a higher stall converter than my 88' IROCZ , and there's no hesitation it cruises at 65/2000rpm. Full size trucks try to take me off the line to pass, and are surprised when they're still reading my license plate. I'm thnking of using one on my IROCZ since it's also a 700r4.

it will still take off fast, but the gas pedal will feel mushy, like it has poor throttle response. Convertors are made to get to stall pretty quickly. You won't be disappointed because they are much more fun to play with. The only downfall is the higher stalls will suck down gas mileage more since it must rev up higher to get moving. You can get the car to move before it hits the stall but ou must take off real slow -worse than grandpa behind the wheel of a 65 volkswagon beetle. I would recommend a trans cooler with the higher stall as heat is the biggest enemy of transmissions, and the convertors make things worse. There is a big jump in performance with a good stall as well.
