Just curious if the factory put RTV on the back and front of the intake manifold..
I know we are suppose to but im curious if the factory did..

Im kinda worried cuz i put some on the back part but towards the edge on the block.. when i set the intake manifold down that edge actually doesnt connect with the intake manifold.. its kinda of a lip that hangs over where i put most of my RTV.. which i didnt put a whole lot of RTV..

So just curious if stock they didnt come with it.. so i will feel more secure with having only a little bit of rtv keep the seal.

 

if you dont have a good seal back there it will leak. mine did the first time i ut my intake back on so i had to take it off and do it again. make sure you have a good seal.

 

Yes, the factory sealed the front and back with RTV.

 

Well i'll leave it on there and if it leaks i guess i'll take it back off..

I cant visualize how oil leaks through there though even though it has before and i went back into put rtv there on another occassion.

When i pre oiled the new engine i hit it with 110psi of oil pressure and oil just seeped up into the lifters and up into the push rods.. that big valley where the4 push rods come up is pretty empty.. no oil flinging around in there.. I just cant visualize how oil comes up there and through the back on the intake manifold..
