Dealership Woes!!!!!!!
Dealership Woes!!!!!!!
I have a 99 Camaro and I had brought my car into a shop (non GM) to have the positive battery cable replaced ($25 is MUCH better than the $179.00 price chevy gave me). I received a call stating that they would not do the change due to the casing around the bolt on the alternator (where the wire connects) is stripped. I figured ok, a dealership replaced the alternator, so I should be able to bring it to any chevy and have them replace it. WRONG! I found out that the last alternator (a GM lifetime part) was first switched out for a one year 12000 mile replacement and now Chevy wants me to pay a $80 diaganostic fee just to see if this is the problem. I called the original dealership and was told to fight it out with the local dealership now and tell them they need to fix this. I don't have the time to mess with these people. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get this fixed? I'm to the point where I'm going to snap. Another case of the dealership taking a piece of me without a dinner purchase first! Thanks!
Re: Dealership Woes!!!!!!!
Issues you have with a dealer can best be resolved by asking to meet with the chevy zone rep. I had a leased Lincolin (1990) replaced with a 92 town car (brand new) after meeting with the Ford zone rep and explained to him the problem and how 2 dealers could not fix the steering problem on the car.
