Cruise cable quick fix?
Cruise cable quick fix?
Ok, so I finally got the non-traction control throttle and cruise cables for my 96Z to get rid of the big ugly black box. Except the cruise cable is broken!
The little clip that connects to the throttle body is broken, a whole side is missing and it won't hold on. Any way I can ghetto rig this, so I don't have to go looking for another cable?
By the way, anyone know who at GM keeps deciding to discontinue parts so I can kill him?

Discontinuing parts is normal practice. After the car is 10 years old or so, parts specific to the car start going away. It's always been that way. You would have to kill everyone at GM. There would be no one left to make new cars.
^ JB Weld a cylindrical piece back on?? Or Solder?
That's my idea... Or check the junk yard for a new cruise module.. It's located on the driver's side near the sway bar connection, inside the plastic shrouds. From what I remember, you MAY have to disconnect the sway mount to get the bracket off..

That piece. I guess I'll just rig something up with a spare piece of plastic and the trusty dremel and some JB weld. I'll do it tomorrow at work instead of actual work
