you can get an A1 replacement windshield for around $200. You should have seen my wreck, broke front and rear windshields, t-tops, and passenger window. Glass and snow was EVERYWHERE, stupid snow.

Yea from the pics it looks like just body panel damage. You may need new plastic behind the bumper cover as well but doesnt look too bad. It took me a total of 1.5 hrs to remove both of my front fenders and clean everything underneath them, realign my door I put on and put a quick coat of primer over all the metal surfaces in the wheel wells. The panel work is VERY easy to do.

I had similar damage to my 97 and they wrote it off at 13 thousand. You might get lucky, depends on if you can do some of the work. How bad really is your frame?

According to insurance adjuster... repair cost is a little over 8k, and the value they are going to give me for the car is just over $6,900.

Frame seems fine.. its just the labor cost in this area and the replacement of dash and air bags that is driving the repair cost up in their eyes.

Still waiting on buyback cost, but I'm leaning towards just letting it go. I'm sure its fixable for the amount I get back, but not sure I really want to deal with the hassle and have it with a salvage title on it.

Dude, I feel your pain - the adjuster stopped writing at $9K+.

Salvage value was $225 on mine. I couldn't believe it. I could have made a mint. I would have loved to part it out but I had nowhere to do it.

Sold it to the auto body shop for a little more + good will.

Great prices on replacement body parts. i just got both front fenders and a front bumper cover for just a hair over $200 shipped to NH. I would have the frame checked before starting anything though.

sorry for the hijack I feel your pain here

could i get some info on this D+H in chicago, IL

If the cost of repairs is more than 80% of the value of the car consider it toast. I just totalled my Nissan a couple months ago.

Sorry I was slacking on the info. The place is D&H Auto parts in Naperville, IL 1-866-820-5043. Good prices and they will paint the parts for an additional cost as well. I paid $218 for both front fenders and a front bumper cover shipped to me in NH. That is THE best price around. It is actually cheaper then I can order stuff thru my shop. The only downside is that they us DHL for shipping. I have had so many things lost by DHL I hate to use them but at the prices I got I couldnt refuse.

i wouldnt try to fix it...i would def buy it back and part it out though. insurance company gave me $5800, i bought it back for $500, and parted everything out for around $4500 or so..mine was m6 with a built motor though. Parting it out was kind of depressing b/c it was my first fbody and i loved the car...im on my 3rd fbody now, and just cant stay away from em lol.. definetly buy it back though, dont let the junkyards make the money off of it

here she is...RIP, 3/18/07

Nothing wrong with a salvage title really. I have a sunfire with one. and well. it's front looks worse than yours even after whomever fixed it heh.

I would buy it back and part it out if nothing else. You could probably get enough with your writeoff, partout to buy an even better one. thats what I would do anyhow. heck the drivetrain is probably worth 2000 alone i bet. maybe squeak more out of it if modified.... then you have the body itself for the most part it is not damaged, interior parts... you could get a bit out of that for parting.

Another thing... chances are if you let it go. the insurance company will auction it off. it will be repaired and resold for more a bit of money in profit. There is a guy who does that alot with 4th gens. Buys them for like 1000$ or so at auction, repairs them, and sells them for 7000+.
