Crank seal

Will a leaking crank seal sling oil all over the opti? . I'm about to install a new opti due to the original being ruined by oil contamination. I've already replaced the water pump and opti seals and will be replacing the intake gasket as well in a few days. Seeing as how there was such a huge mess all over the timing cover I can't tell if it was leaking or not. I'd rather not have to pull the hub.(pain in the ***).

Re: Crank seal

pulling the hub isnt that big of a deal. I used a bolt type puller with grade 8 bolts and replaced mine. I'd hate to spend hours doing a job like that only to find a 2 cent part I did not replace caused an oil leak
