Cool Courtesy Key-Off Power

First, thanks to all- I've been able to answer all my own questions so far using the search, but I can't find this one:

I don't know exactly what's it's called, but when you pull the key but the power stays on for a while, until you open the door... Anyway, mine flakes!! Sometimes it works, mostly it doesn't. I've tried all sorts of leaving the lights on, leaving the windows open... anything I can think of, but I can't control this feature!! Help!!!

Also, besides the headliner light, what other interior lighting is there? I have no interior lights except my console. I checked the bulb (in the headliner), swapped the fuse, but nadda... Sucks always being dark in the car

Thanks for the help.

The two problems are probaly related. It is called the RAP module that keeps the accesories on for a few minutes until a door is opened. If that or your door switches arent working right all the time it could be causing your problems.

My door switch seems to work okay, as the chime always sounds when it should.

Where's the RAP located? Is it servicable?!

Thanks for the quick reply

I want to say its differnet on earlier 4th gens but the later ones it is tied in with the BCM. Ive never had to mess with it other than for it not to keep my acc on when i use the remote start to turn the car off.

Probably the same as the '95: http://shbox.com/1/express_down1.jpg Check out the rest of Shoebox's site, think the wiring schematics are there too.

I had looked at shoebox's sight and must have missed it- Thanks!

I didn't see any troubleshooting tips or anything else, but at least it's a start. I'll check all the connections and stuff and see what happens.

Maybe it just needs a little love
