Cooling fans issue

Alrighty, I just got my 96 SS M6. The fans are always on unless I remove the #1 and #2 Cooling fan relays. I shut the motor off and the fans will continue to run until the battery is drained. They don't seem to be affected by the actual temp of the motor or anything, they're either on or off when the relays are removed. Any suggestions??

Once the moderators wake up this thread will be moved so if you can't find it go looking.

Did you just buy the car this way or is this a sudden failure.

Yep.... not really 'Advanced Tech'. Moving to 'General 67-02 F-Body Tech'.

Is it possible someone installed a manual fan switch?

I can't find a manual switch if there is one. Only thing that really makes sense though I guess.

Look for some altered wiring, then.

I looked over on my passenger side shock tower, on that wiring set up C100 and the blue wire and green wire have been cut from their normal places ( they don't go into the C100) they are bypassed to seperate wires that feed into the sleeving that goes over the block and into the firewall. I can't trace where they go from there.

Re: Cooling fans issue

I think I'm just going to go ahead and get a new coolant fan harness, mine is barely holding together. Does anyone know where to get one? It's the C-100 connector on the passenger side shock tower. I've looked all over the place and can't find one.
