Clock staying on when car is off

I’m having a problem with my 94 Z28, the clock on my radio remains on, drains my battery, checked the RCL button, not stuck.
I found tonight that if I pull the courtesy fuse the clock will go off. Could this be a BCM, RAP issue or just a bad factory radio?

Re: Clock staying on when car is off

No BCM in a 94. Was added in 1996.

Which radio…. Bose or standard? And the radio is “off” when the key is “off”? Only the clock stays illuminated?

I believe with the Bose system, the clock and memory are directly powered by non-switched power from the courtesy fuse. Looking at the schematic for the Bose, would not involve the RAP module. The RAP feeds power from Radio fuse 17.

I can give you a link to the 1994 factory service manual.

And let's move this to “General 1967-2002 F-Body Tech”. More likely to get help there than here on “New Member Intro”.

It’s a Delco radio, the radio stays off but clock will not shut off unless the courtesy fuse is pulled

Let me contact a friend who knows the Delco radios. I'll see if he has any ideas.

He came back December 3 at 7:53am to read your response, but I guess answering your question was too much bother.

Sorry to waste your time on this one. Another account to add to the "ignore" list. SMH

So….. without “notification” you just happened to come back 33-minutes after he posted his response, you (hopefully) read his simple question….. but didn’t bother to post a simple 1-word response. You must be a verrrry busy person. Good luck.
