Go check out the parts for sale / wanted section of this forum. If you ever need a part again, *any* part, you will find it there at a fraction of what you might pay otherwise.

 

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier, I would have told you what it was.
I have had 3 door latches go out on my driver's door on my '71 chevelle.
I finally took them all apart and built one good one from scratch and haven't had a problem since.
I know the feeling when the door won't open. It sucks to say the least.
