Changing the brake light question

Stupid question but I want to make sure I dont break anything. I've got the the little thing that you screw off off the thing but it still doesnt look like it wants to give. Do you just have to yank on it a bit or is something else holding it in place? Thanks.

??? You probably need to be more specific. If you have the housing off, all you have to do is twitst the bulb 1/8th of a turn CCW to get it out. Doin't know if this answers your question, but I don't know that the thing on the thing is.

Ok, I'll try again. When I pulled the carpet back, I see a plastic thing preventing the tailight screw from working its way out. I also see a cable with a rubber stopper. I took the plastic thing off and tried to work the housing off. It doesnt seem to want to give much and I dont want to break it trying. Am I missing something? Thanks.

You pull the carpet back and there will be TWO plastic washers holding the lens piece in. Once you unscrew the two plastic washers you just pull out the whole turn signal assembly (for that side).
